Annual Declaration of Arbroath Commemoration 2013

As Scotland draws nearer to her bid for independence it is important to remember events in our nations great history and the sacrifices given by Scots in pursuit of freedom and the right to self determination all those years ago.

The Declaration of Arbroath is without doubt the most famous document in Scottish history. Like the American Declaration of Independence, which is partially based on it, it is seen by many as the founding document of the Scottish nation. It was drafted on the 6th April 1320

There is an event on the 6th April 2013 to commemorate the signing of the declaration
The march will leave Kings Gate, Top of Arbroath Harbour at 2.30pm sharp
March through town to Behind Abbey for Speakers.

Entertainment will be provided by Fiery Jack at Ceilidh Anchor, Westport, Bar 4pm.
£5. Children Free.
